In 2020 Google Meet was available for free with unlimited group video calls for everyone. Also, they said free service extends for a while. but now it seems Google will not extending the free plan as they launch the premium plans for Google meet.

Google Launched Premium Plan For Google Meet

Google Meet users not able to do group video calls for free now in 2021. Now you can do a group video call for only 60 minutes. If any users want unlimited group calls then you need to subscribe premium plan. 

This plan (Google Workspace Essentials) costs around $8 (Rs 600) a month. In this plan, you will get 150 maximum meeting participants. Also, you can get 100 GB per user (up to 2 TB pooled) with 24/7 online support.

The 1 to 1 meeting still available for free, with 24 hours maximum length. In the free plan, you can get 3+ participants maximum with a 1-hour time limit. Meeting participants will be 100 in the free plan.

If you use Google Meet regularly for your work then, you need to upgrade with the premium plan. Otherwise, you can check out some other meeting apps like Zoom or Microsoft Team.
